- "Jeżeli chodzi o samochody to miałem taki przypadek.
No więc podkładałem dywaniki pod koła. Trwało to z pół godziny, ale jakoś wyjechałem. Wracam, a ten Niemiec stoi z pistoletem i krzyczy: "Ja Cię zastrzelę! Zabrałeś mi samochód do partyzantów!".
Pojechali.
Sometimes I think whether Mr. Walaszczyk too often exposed himself to danger. There is one story that shows how Mr. Józef at young age loved cars like every boy and he made the most of opportunity.
-“As regards cars I had an event. One time a German from province arrived to control the factory. He got out from a beautiful sports car Wanderer. I gave a drink of alcohol to the driver of German and I took the keys. I intended to have a ride on path in a forest, but I have got stuck in the sand. That was far away from possessions about 2km. I thought- maybe by horses they could pull me out but it could take too much time and the owner would see what happened. So I was putting rugs under the wheels. It took about half an hour but I’ve managed. I came back and saw that German standing with a gun and shouting “I will kill you! You took my car to partisans!”. The driver was pale.. I was impertinent so I said: “It is such a beautiful car that I could not deny myself a ride.” But a “volksdeutsch” had a very good dinner so I got away with it… They went. What happened with a driver, I do not know. One could expose me to danger…”

Mr. Walaszczyk told us this story with a smile on his face. After so many years it sounded even funny. Could Mr. Józef possibly feel strong emotions inside? He must have had fear but he did not show it. Was it worth to expose himself to danger only for sake of one ride? Surely yes to - a young man. That is only one of the stories where our figure play with fate. When I got to know this man I understood he did not regret anything.
